Why Isn’t My Facebook Page Considered For a Username?

Recently I was wondering why isn’t my Facebook page eligible for a username. Recently I updated my status and decided to change my password. When I went to log in, I saw that my new password was ‘myword‘. When I changed it to the one I use on Facebook, I immediately got an error message saying ‘Your Facebook account is not eligible to have a username.‘ I then asked on Twitter if I could change my password and the same happened.

Now I have two questions. First, what happened to my profile? And second, why is my page not eligible to have a username? In this article, we are going to answer both of these questions so you can see better how Facebook developers behind the platform think about applications.

This page becomes visible to everyone, and he can ‘request’ for his or her user name to be change.

Now, we are coming to the second question: why isn’t my page eligible to have a username? The answer lies in Facebook’s own terms and conditions. Facebook Applications users are restrict to using their initial user name (also called the “handle”).
